At the end of last year, our semi-tame reporter Emmet headed along to Slowfoot Records' night at the Dogstar in Brixton. Due to our winter break, we are only just getting the recordings to you, but hope you will agree it has been worth the wait.
Starting off the show we have an interview with Brighton's Grasscut who discuss their English eccentricities and play their single recently released on Ninja Tune, "Muppet." Following that you can hear the headline set from electronic music pioneer, and Slowfoot Records star signing, Rob Logan. He performed with a full live band and it sounded pretty darn good too.

Grasscut (GB) - 'Interview' (Ninja Tune)
The track used as a bed for the interview is Grasscut's previous release, "Swallow the Day."

Grasscut songwriter Andrew Phillips is an award-winning film and television composer with over 100 screen credits. His partner in crime is classically trained double bassist, keyboards player and noisenik Marcus O'Dair. Live, they set up facing one another, at right angles to the audience, each armed with laptop and keyboard, which makes for an interesting set up. |

Robert Logan (GB) - 'Interview and Live Set' (Slowfoot)
Robert Logan makes all of his music from scratch, refusing to use pre-made patches or sampling. His MySpace describes what he does pretty well:
"When I was about seven, I began improvising on the piano. Obsessively. Now I make electronic music just as obsessively with anything that can make a noise." |
